People are being urged to raise funds for the RSPCA at the Cardiff Half Marathon.
For the first time, the RSPCA is offering charity places for the half marathon, which will take place on Sunday, October 5.
It is Wales’ largest mass participation and multi-charity fundraising event.
Chris O’Brien, who will be joining Team Animal for the half marathon, said: “This will be my first half marathon for seven years; so getting back into training is going to be a real challenge – especially trying to get started after Christmas.
“But I can’t wait to raise money for the fantastic RSPCA, and to get involved with Team Animal, and to have the support of the RSPCA events team.”
Abi Mustard, events manager at the RSPCA, said: “Our amazing fundraisers do vital work supporting us in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming or releasing thousands of animals every year.
“By raising money for the RSPCA, you’ll join animal lovers from across the region, and the whole country, determined to stop animal cruelty and neglect.”
The RSPCA has said it needs funds as its officers face increasing pressures amid the cost of living crisis.
