Shoplifter stole Carlsberg, soft drinks and food from shops across Pembrokeshire

A PEMBROKE Dock man was caught stealing Carlsberg, soft drinks and food from shops across Pembrokeshire.

Ashley Mardon, 36, of Pembroke Street, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court charged with five offences of shoplifting.

Mardon was alleged to have stolen food and alcohol worth a total of £39.75 from Iceland in Haverfordwest on September 24, and £17 of food and alcohol from Londis in Pembroke on October 18.

He was also accused of alcohol and soft drinks worth a total of £7.78 from Spar in Monkton on November 24.

Mardon was further accused of raiding Home Bargains in Pembroke Dock on December 5 and 12 – taking £11 of groceries on the first occasion and £12.49 of Carlsberg on the second.

The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court.

He was sentenced to a two-year community order, and must complete 200 hours of unpaid work, the Building Better Relationships programme, 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days, and a 90-day alcohol abstinence monitoring requirement.

Mardon must pay £85 in costs and compensation for the stolen goods.
