Seals have been spotted in public places in a Yorkshire seaside town to rest up – to the joy of onlookers with the arrival of yet another ‘beautiful creature’ in the past 24 hours.
It comes after last week a seal, affectionately named Bernie, rested up on the beach in Scarborough, taking refuge on a lifeboat ramp. Since then, an adult female Grey seal has also landed on the beach for a little respite.

Two guinea pigs have been rescued from a Leicestershire house fire. Multiple fire crews were called to the scene in Ashby.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said it was called to the scene in Ridgeway Road at around 1.22pm on Tuesday (January 14) following reports of a fire. Crews from Ashby, Coalville and Swadlincote fire stations were dispatched to the scene. No injuries were reported.
‘I may as well go guilty’, says man found drunk on a horse
A man has been brought before the court after he was found drunk while “riding” on a horse.
Stuart Evans, 33, was discovered heavily intoxicated with the gelding outside a pub, following a report from a member of the public that he was using his horse and cart at dusk without any lights or reflective gear.
