If you’re looking for a drinking spot to visit in Richmond, recently named one of the best places to live in the UK, we’ve picked out four of the best pubs.
With plenty of walking spots and local history, it’s no wonder why this neighbourhood in London’s Zone Six was named as England’s best place by The Times.
Whether you live in Richmond or are just popping along for a visit, Richmond is home to some very quaint and cosy pubs to stop off in after a walk or a day of exploring.
Here are some of the best pubs:
The White Cross
Starting off with one of Richmond’s most famous pubs, The White Cross is a social media favourite, known as a pub that always floods during high tide.

This Thameside pub is like any other pub serving British fare, Sunday roasts and pints of beer, but unlike many the beer garden of this pub is known for flooding during high tide.
When this happens, punters and staff don wellies to keep dry, with higher outdoor bar stalls available, but just mind how you go as you try to get back to your seat with your drink.

But if you don’t fancy getting wet, you can sit indoors to keep dry whilst you spectate the goings on in the beer garden.
This pub is also perfect for anyone who enjoys taking a paddle boat to the Thames, because during high tide the pub becomes a “sail through” bar for the padding punters!

The guide also praised the pub for its “sensible” prices, as well as its Sunday roast and regular quiz nights.
The pub has a cosy feel with a log burner on chilly days, along with a beer garden to relax in during the warmer months, and serves classic British fare like fish and chips along with dishes inspired by the Mediterranean.
