Strictly Come Dancing’s JB Gill’s wife opens up on ‘arguments’ and reveals strict rule

Strictly Come Dancing favourite JB Gill has told how his wife Chloe told him to “start pulling his weight” at home. The JLS singer told BBC Radio Devon’s Richard Green that he had let his housework duties slip as a result of his Strictly commitments, and words had been exchanged.

He quipped: “I’ve left it to my wife for the last however many weeks, and she’s said ‘Right, you need to start pulling your weight.’ It’s all about Christmas.”

But JB and Chloe have a strict rule that keeps their marriage on an even keel. Speaking on podcaster Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time Chloe, who was a professional dancer herself for many years, said they both agree to never argue in front of their kids.

Recalling one situation, she said: “We were in the car and he was doing my head in and I just had to breathe.. One good thing about having children is that we don’t argue in front of our children.”

The couple met when Chloe was employed as a dancer for a 2010 JLS tour. They married in 2014 and Chloe gave birth to their first child, Ace in September of that same year. In 2017 their daughter was born, followed by another little girl a year later.

JB said that being new parents could be stressful. “I viewed everything as firstly as a partnership,” he added. “But you can’t always anticipate everything. For example, as Chloe said, when we were having the babies and stuff like that you kind of pushed out a little bit.

“I mean, it’s tough, and there’s high emotions, and you get frustrated, she’s getting frustrated, especially with the first, you don’t know what you’re doing, they’re crying and so on…”

Chloe agreed, adding that it can be tough for a parent if one of their kids is having “a bad day,” and that can lead to friction for a couple: She continued: “They’re teething or something, and then that puts a strain on both of you because you’re tired, and you’re taking it out on each other.”

The couple have exchanged the world of pop for a turkey farm, and so they now have the added pressure of running a working farm to their family life. But they maintain their sunny outlook with a healthy sense of humour and that one rule: never row in front of the kids.
