Swansea City have submitted a bit for Wycombe Wanderers defender Joe Low, WalesOnline understands.

The Swans are hopeful of adding several players to their ranks this winter, with a number of players already identified as possibilities ahead of the new year.

It seems Low has now emerged as a key target, with sources indicating the club have now made a formal approach for the 22-year-old, who’s been in fine form for the Chairboys this season.

The exact value of the bid isn’t clear at this stage, while it also remains to be seen whether it will be enough to tempt Wycombe into a sale.

The centre-back has played every minute of Wycombe’s 22 league games this season, and was recently nominated for League One’s Player of the Month for November.

Low, who has also has two senior caps for Wales to his name, having made his debut in the friendly with Gibraltar back in the summer.

A centre-back is believed to be high on the wishlist for the Swans, with Luke Williams keen to add competition for first choice centre-back pairing Ben Cabango and Harry Darling.

Quizzed on whether the club were close to any deals after his side’s win over Luton Town on Sunday, the Swans boss said: “I don’t think there’s anything juicy I can tell you, but conversations are being had with potential targets and I’ve spoken to one or two players.

“It looks to me like the players that are already under contract here are trying desperately to show that we don’t need anyone, which is really healthy.

“So we want the best group on the pitch possible and if someone’s going to come into the club they need to be raising that level. Raising the bar higher.”
