Swansea City are considering a player swap in order to tempt Wycombe Wanderers into sanctioning an exit for top target Joe Low.
The centre-back is at the top of Swansea’s January wishlist, and has already been the subject of two bids in recent weeks. However, the Swans have not yet been able to find a breakthrough in negotiations.
The Chairboys are adamant the 22-year-old is not for sale in this window, and are holding firm as they bid to hold on to what they consider to be their star player.

However, Swansea aren’t yet ready to walk away, and sources claim chairman Andy Coleman, who’s taken the lead on negotiations this winter, could well consider the possibility of throwing a player into the deal to grease the cogs and get the move over the line.
Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End are among the other sides monitoring the situation, but Swansea still appear to be leading the chase for his signature at this stage.
It’s understood a move to the Championship would appeal to the defender, and there’s also a feeling that the chance to move back to his native south Wales might also work in Swansea’s favour. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.
The departure of Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield, who recently joined Championship rivals Luton Town, could also come into the player’s thinking given the pair shared a close relationship.
Wycombe have already signed two centre-backs in this window in Anders Hagelskjaer and Sonny Bradley, but have also lost Caleb Taylor in this window. Should they bring another option on board, it could potentially soften their stance.
A centre-back was already high on Swansea’s agenda before the start of the window, but with injury concerns over Harry Darling and Ben Cabango, and the departure of loanee Nelson Abbey, the need to strengthen has been accelerated in the last couple of weeks.
The club are also still on the hunt for a winger this month, although sources have heavily played down links with Blackburn Rovers star Tyrhys Dolan.

Reports elsewhere suggested the Swans had identified the 23-year-old as a potential target this winter, with Dolan entering the final six months of his current deal.
But while it certainly appears to be a move that would tick a fair number of boxes for the Swans, he is not currently considered a serious target at this stage. Indeed, as things stand, it seems likely the winger will see out the season at Ewood Park and reassess his future in the summer.
Meanwhile, the club are still eager to strengthen their options in the middle of the park.
Barnsley’s Adam Philips and Saudi midfielder Abdulmalik Al-Jaber have both been linked by reports elsewhere, while there’s still some interest in former loanee Luke Cundle.
It’s understood the club made contact with Wolverhampton Wanderers last week to sound out a potential move for Cundle, but discussions don’t appear to have progressed any further at this stage.
A host of Championship sides are also keeping tabs, with Millwall and Bristol City among the latest to have shown an interest in Cundle, with both a loan and permanent exit still seemingly on the table.
