It’s named after Foel y Mwnt, a conical hill which rises above the popular spot. And when visiting, a walk up to the top is a must-do to get some panoramic views over Cardigan Bay.

Despite being given the Green Coast and Seaside Award, and having good on site facilities including the National Trust car park, toilets and a kiosk selling ice creams, Mwnt might just be one of Wales’ best kept secrets.
Visitors have described the spot as being “breath-taking” with lots of people raving about the incredible views in the area on Tripadvisor. One person wrote: “Mwnt is such a wonderful place. Great beach, lovely shop/cafe but the best is the views from the top of the Mwnt. It’s a single track walk around the literal edge which gives the most breath-taking, amazing views.”
Someone else said: “Absolutely stunning – clear sea pristine sand – no dogs which is really nice as a small beach. We had a 30 min dolphin display which was magical. Great little café with delicious baguettes and toasties.”

Another Tripadvisor reviewer said: “We visited this beach last year. Forgot to leave a review. But it was a really nice and clean beach. You could tell it was popular with the locals.
“It had a surrounding cliff that you could explore with an old church near by. Not too difficult to get to the top either. Lucky we stayed in a nearby shepherds hut so we didn’t need to pay for parking. Was Only a short walk to the beach.
“The stairs down to the beach were very steep and on the way back up was some what challenging. Though we would return if in the area. Locals were friendly too. Lovely little hidden beach.”
