A pub in Peckham has reopened with an unexpected twist – a hidden nightclub downstairs hosting everything from top and grass route DJs to comedy nights.
The Greyhound, which reopened its doors earlier this year, has unveiled a revamped underground basement.
Hidden beneath the unassuming pub lies a 150-capacity venue equipped with a state-of-the-art Martin Audio sound system, designed to host a diverse mix of events spanning music, comedy, arts, and community gatherings.
This new chapter for The Greyhound has been created by the team behind east London’s nightclub The Cause and Hackney Wick venue All My Friends Both of which are known for their grassroots ethos and innovative approach to nightlife.

While the basement delivers high-energy events, the pub upstairs remains a warm, welcoming space that stays true to its roots as a traditional British boozer.
The Greyhound offers a thoughtfully curated selection of craft beers, ciders, and independent spirits, alongside a menu created by resident chef Natty Can Cook.
Known for his refined take on Caribbean cuisine inspired by his mother’s recipes, Natty serves dishes that have quickly become local favourites, including hearty Sunday roasts and nostalgic Caribbean classics.

Sports fans are also well catered for, with the pub’s big screens showing key games throughout the week.
Whether you’re catching the latest match, enjoying a pint with friends, or indulging in Natty’s famous cooking, The Greyhound’s upstairs space provides a cosy contrast to the lively basement below.
The basement space has already attracted big-name DJs, underground selectors, and emerging talent, and its place as a must-visit destination for those in the know in Peckham.
Since opening the basement, The Greyhound has hosted a variety of events, including pop-up performances by DJ EZ, Bone Soda, and Ahadadream, alongside live gigs, record fairs, and even clothing markets.
With a jam-packed schedule for the months ahead, the venue promises a dynamic lineup of underground DJs and local collectives.
The basement isn’t just for seasoned performers. A regular open deck night invites aspiring DJs to step behind the decks and showcase their skills, providing a rare opportunity for new talent to be heard.

Stuart Glen, co-founder of The Cause, said: “We’ve reimagined the basement space to fit a much wider offering and embrace the South London community.
“The space suits live bands as equally as it does intimate grassroots club-nights, markets, comedy and talks.
“We’re hoping the new format will become a real test-bed for all of these, bringing through new promoters, artists, performers and more who we hope can grow with us into our bigger stages and beyond.”
