If you’re in Greenwich and looking for a pub with a laid-back vibe, The Lost Hour is worth a visit.
Located near the Cutty Sark, this pub balances a cosy atmosphere with the lively energy of a sports bar.
The recent refurbishment has given it a fresh yet quirky look, with colourful sofas, leather benches, and high bar stools creating a welcoming space.

The décor might be inviting, but it’s the large screens showing Sky Sports that hint at the pub’s dual personality—it’s as much about catching the game as it is about relaxing with friends.
We started with cocktails, which were a pleasant surprise.
2-for1 can never be ignored! (Image: Newsquest) The dedicated cocktail bar offers 2-for-1 deals all week, making it easy to justify trying more than one.
The drinks were well-made, and the deal makes them great value, especially in this part of London.
For starters, we shared The Crowd Pleaser, which more than lived up to its name. The platter included eight chicken wings, garlic bread, onion rings, karaage-coated chicken, halloumi skewers, and cheesy BBQ beef burnt ends-topped nachos.
This most definitely ‘pleased’ this crowd (Image: Newsquest) It was a generous portion, served hot and full of flavour—perfect for sharing.
For mains, we tried The Little Rebel, a classic burger with bacon, cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce.
It’s exactly the kind of comfort food you’d hope for. We also had the Karaage Kid, featuring karaage-coated chicken, Asian slaw, and sweet sriracha sauce.

Adding an alcoholic drink for just £2 extra made the meal feel like even better value.
The pub has a nice buzz, though it was relatively quiet during our visit. It’s easy to see it becoming livelier on weekends with sports fans and local regulars.
(Image: Newsquest) Events like the pub quiz and live music nights add to the appeal, and for the daring, there’s the 50-Chicken-Wings Challenge—a fun (and filling) test for anyone feeling adventurous.
The Lost Hour isn’t trying to be fancy, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s a solid choice for good food, affordable drinks, and a friendly atmosphere.
Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal, a drink with friends, or to watch the match, it’s a place where it’s easy to lose track of time—in the best way possible.
