New data has revealed the pass rates for drivers taking their tests at a Pembrokeshire test centre.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has published its quarterly data for test centres across the country and they can be used to show where learners have the best (and worst) chance at passing.
Pembroke Dock is the only practical test centre in the county while options outside of Pembrokeshire include Cardigan, Carmarthen, Llanelli, Swansea and Aberystwyth (Park Avenue).
Between April and September 2024 there was a pass rate of 60.3% (Image: Google Maps) According to the stats, 60.3 per cent of people who took their tests in Pembroke Dock between April and September 2024 passed.
In numbers, this means 623 out of 1034 people were awarded a driver’s license.
A total of 526 males undertook tests and 329 passed, displaying an average pass rate of 62.5 per cent.
Meanwhile, 508 females tried and 294 passed, presenting an average pass rate of 57.9 per cent.
For comparison, the national pass rate for the year to date was 48.5 per cent, which is up from 47.9 per cent in the 2023-24 financial year.
