Bridgend rockers Those Damn Crows are gearing up for a special headline show in Cardiff, with just a few tickets left.
The band will be playing an almost sold-out show at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Saturday, December 14.
This is the band’s biggest headline show to date and the only UK show of 2024.
Frontman Shane Greenhall shared his excitement for the event, saying: “We played Swansea arena last year, sold that out, and now to do the capital city, we didn’t know what to expect.
“But the fact that we haven’t played a UK show this year because we’ve been doing a lot in Europe and stuff, I think that helped.
“So everyone’s just jumped on this one.
“I just feel like everyone’s jumped this because what a great opportunity to see the Welsh lads in their capital.
“And the fact that we haven’t played the UK this year.
“It’s been so successful going to Europe and playing to thousands of people in Germany, Austria, I mean, it was just amazing.
“But there is no place like home.”
The band has invested heavily in the production of the show, with Mr Greenhall revealing: “We’ve literally thrown everything and the kitchen sink at this, production wise, the money we’ve spent on this show, I can’t even fathom.
“I don’t even know how we’ve done it.
“I’m not sure there’s any profit made from this show because it’s all gone into the show for production, staging, lights, the effects.
“It’s definitely the most production we’ve ever had on any show.”
The band will be playing a few new songs from their upcoming album, God Shaped Hole, which is set to be released on April 11, 2025, through Earache Records.
One of the new singles is Still, a very personal track that focuses on Mr Greenhall’s lowest moments which he hopes will show people that low points are temporary as he’s now in a much better place.
On the single, he said: “It’s one of the easiest songs I’ve ever written because it just flew out.
“The hardest thing is to perform it.
“That’s the truth, when you stand in front of people, light is on you and they know exactly what the song is about.”
He added: “I’m potentially going to be playing this on Saturday for the first time ever in front of anybody.
“And I picked my home crowd, 6,000, 7,000 people.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, to be honest.”
The frontman concluded: “It’s almost like a celebration show rather than a prove yourself show.
“Everyone that’s been there has seen us for 10 years and I think they know what we can do.
“I think they love the music as much as we do, so it’s just a case of doing that together.
“Just grab those last tickets, people, because it’s on low ticket warning and has been for about a week and a half now, so we’re expecting it to be full to the rafters.
“So if you are thinking about it, grab a ticket.
“It’s going to be a great night in Cardiff just before Christmas.”
The remaining tickets for the show at Cardiff Utilita Arena are on sale through Ticketmaster.
