‘Thousands of people have watched me wipe out trying to make more space in my bin’

A taxi driver has gone viral after a video of him trying to make more room in his bin ended in disaster. Jason Buckley decided to step inside his refuse bin outside his home in Lansbury Avenue, Cefn Hengoed and stomp up to flatten what was already in there.

But his plan went wrong, as the bin toppled over, sending him flying backwards and to the ground. Luckily, Mr Buckley narrowly avoided his head hitting the wall behind him, and he is able to laugh about his mishap.

His You’ve Been Framed-esque fall was captured on his security camera, and Mr Buckley said he decided to upload it to Facebook – before his wife beat him to it. It has already been viewed more than 11,000 times. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.

“I put it on Facebook before my wife had chance to do it and take the p*** out of me,” the 44-year-old said. “I was making more room in the bin because our bins had been delayed, I was just standing inside trying to make more room and away it went. My daughter was out on the bike and was screaming: ‘Dad, are you alright? Dad, are you alright?’ But then she went in.

“It’s had 11,400 views. I tried to put it on TikTok as well but they wouldn’t put it on as they thought it might start a trend. I walk into Tesco now, and they ask ‘Has it bin a long day Jase’ and just make bin jokes. It’s my five minutes of fame. I thought it would just make people laugh that’s all.

“Loads of people have asked if I’m okay and nice stuff, and a few jokes. I thought I’d get abused loads online! I’m a taxi driver and I’m getting stick off my colleagues as well. I didn’t hurt myself luckily. Just embarrassed really. If I’d caught my head on the wall behind me I’d be dead I expect.” Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news.
