Here’s your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Monday, December 9.
Swans not expecting issues after storm damage
Swansea City have eased concerns around hosting Saturday’s home game with Sunderland following damage done to the Swansea.com Stadium during Storm Darragh over the weekend.
The Swans share the stadium with rugby side Ospreys, who had to move Sunday’s fixture with Lions to Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets due to damage done to the roof of the East Stand.

However, while repair work is ongoing, the Swans are confident it will be completed in time for the visit of the Black Cats.
“The Swansea.com Stadium has incurred roof damage caused by Storm Darragh,” the club’s operations manager Jamie Gibbons told the BBC.
“A section of the roof in the East Stand, which overhangs the pitch, has blown away, leaving a hole in the sheeting.
“Work has already commenced to fix the issues and we don’t expect any issues with future fixtures.”
Williams hails ‘remarkable’ Rooney
Luke Williams says he has ‘absolutely zero doubts’ over Wayne Rooney’s managerial ability ahead of his side’s trip to Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night.
Rooney is currently under pressure at Home Park, with his side currently firmly in the relegation picture after a string of poor results, but Williams has backed the former Manchester United forward’s credentials.
“I think the job he did at Derby was remarkable because they were in such a tough place,” the Swans boss said. “That team never seemed to come out feeling sorry for itself.
“I spoke to one or two of the players that I knew in that squad over the summer at the end of that season and they spoke really highly of the way he spoke to them, and the way he looked at the situation. He tried to give those players context around the situation and help them to keep fighting and perform well.
“There’s nothing anyone can teach him about football and I think when he walks into any changing room, any set of players will respect him instantly and quite rightly. So will I.
“I have absolutely zero doubts around his ability to manage a football club. What I do know is the game is so incredibly tough and you’re relying on so many other factors. No manager on the planet is capable of making any group successful on their own. However good a manager is, he needs plenty of things around him to help him be successful. Wayne Rooney’s no different and I look forward to meeting him.”

Roberts – Grimes needs more goals
Iwan Roberts has challenged Swansea City skipper Matt Grimes to add more goals to his game, after the midfielder’s superb strike earned his side a point at Luton Town.
Elijah Adebayo put the hosts in front at Kenilworth Road before Grimes struck a crisp leveller in the second half to restore parity.
Former Wales striker Roberts says he hopes it’s the first of many for the captain, whom he says needs to trouble the scorers a lot more in a Swan shirt.
“People will look at Luton’s position and think it’s a game that they should go there and get at least a draw, but Luton had won their previous two home games,” Roberts told BBC Radio Wales Breakfast.
“They should have won it looking at the highlights, they had plenty of opportunities.
“It was a disappointing goal to give away, a rare mistake from Ben Cabango gave Adebayo the opportunity to put Luton ahead on 17 minutes.
“Fantastic strike to equalise by Matt Grimes. He doesn’t score enough goals, it’s only his second goal of the season.
“He’s only scored 10 league goals in just shy of 300 league appearances for Swansea.”
