Two teachers injured and one hospitalised after attack by ex-pupil at Newport school

THREE teachers working at a secondary school in Newport have been attacked by a former pupil who broke into the school yesterday, January 7, leaving one teacher hospitalised.

The ex-pupil, who is believed to be aged between 11 and 14 years old, entered the building of Newport High School and attacked three teachers.

Other members of staff and school pupils were amongst those who witnessed the incident, whereby the culprit also damaged school property and some cars parked on the premises.

As a result, Newport High School followed their lockdown measures as well as other emergency procedures in order to keep students safe, but are reviewing if any further precautionary measures could have been taken.
