Uninsured motorist drove dangerously before obstructing police officer

A 22-YEAR-OLD has admitted dangerous driving and obstructing a police officer after failing to stop.

Lewis Palmer, of Argyle Street in Pembroke Dock, appeared in court charged with four offences.

It was alleged that Palmer was driving a Seat Ateca dangerously on Pembroke Road in Pembroke Dock on March 12. He was also accused of driving on that occasion without a valid insurance policy.

Palmer was then alleged to have failed to stop for the police when required.

He was further charged with wilfully obstructing a police officer in the execution of their duties on Pembroke Road on that date.

Palmer pleaded guilty to all charges on November 19.

He was handed a 24-week sentence at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on January 7, suspended for two years. As part of this, he must complete 300 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Palmer was disqualified from driving for three years, and will need to pass an extended test to regain his licence. He must also pay £85 in costs and a £154 surcharge.
