A US burger chain, described as “better than McDonald’s and Burger King” is set to open its first UK store in Cardiff later this year.
Carl’s Jr., which was founded in 1941, boasts more than 1,100 stores across the US and can also be found in 28 other countries around the world.
It is known for its “iconic charbroiled burgers” including the Famous Star With Cheese and Western Bacon Cheese burgers.
The fast food restaurant chain has been looking to enter the UK market for the past few years.

Carl’s Jr. is now set to open its first UK store in Cardiff in April 2025, according to Restaurant Online.
It is understood the new fast food restaurant, which will have the capacity to accommodate 50 customers at a time, will open inside the St David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre.

“We’ve had incredible interest from fans eager to experience Carl’s Jr. difference, and we can’t wait to welcome them this April.”
