The London Underground is often described as the beating heart of the capital.
Everyday Transport for Londons (TfL) Tube network ferries thousands of passengers to their destinations quickly and safely.
While there are some clear positives to having a transport service like the Tube in London, some think it’s not as perfect as it could be.
Some Londoners have taken to Reddit to share what they want to change and improve about TfL’s Underground.
It comes as one member of r/London asked: “What’s one thing you’d add, abolish or change about our public transport in London?”
Adding that they would like to see more toilets on “all stations inside the barrier”.
What do Londoners want to change about the London Underground?
Among the many answers, it might not be very surprising that one of the top requests of change was to bring air conditioning to the Tube.
Every summer, Londoners and tourists alike are forced to slowly cook and melt aboard the underground as no signs of cool air find their way to the trains.
On Reddit, one frequent user of the TfL service simply said: “Air conditioning in the summer.”
Others said that along with some air conditioning, some ventilation is needed on the Tube: “Ventilation in general. A blast of tunnel air doesn’t count!”
Londoners also want a change in the noise level aboard the Tube, with one writing: “The noise. not even my noise-cancelling earphones are enough sometimes.”

Some also want the London Underground to be more accessible for those with mobility issues: “I’d love it if they were all functionally accessible to anyone with mobility issues.
“With ramps that could be utilised from the train at the touch of a button on every train so that you didn’t have to call ahead for assistance (that isn’t always guaranteed) if you were travelling on your own.
“If there were lifts at every stations that also had stairs /escalators. Just generally better accessibility across the network.”
