Why a Ferrari was spotted written off on this Gwent road

A CAR has allegedly been written off as a result of a crash on a busy A road in Gwent at the weekend.

An eyewitness spotted a car seemingly having been written off following a  crash on the A4042 on the afternoon of Sunday, December 22.

The eyewitness told the Argus that they had driven past the vehicle, which they described as “a Ferrari written off” on the A4042 heading towards New Inn at around 5pm on Sunday.

Gwent Police have since confirmed to the Argus that officers were called to reports of a crash on Turnpike Road just before 3pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on Turnpike Road, Croesyceiliog, at around 2.50pm on Sunday 22 December.

“Officers attended and the collision involved one car.

“There were no reports of any injuries.”
