Will it snow this Christmas in London? What weather forecasters are saying

In just a matter of days, the streets of London will be quiet as people gather with their family and friends to celebrate Christmas Day.

Seeing many tuck into a yummy roast dinner, open presents and celebrate the year that’s gone by, Christmas in London is a magical experience.

However, one element of Christmas that seems to be a rarity now is snow during the festive week.

However, so you can prepare in case London is treated to a white Christmas, the Met Office has shared an early forecast for the region.

Will it snow in London this Christmas?

Discussing the Christmas week forecast, the Met Office shares: “Likely starting off very unsettled, with blustery showers, a mix of rain, sleet, some hill snow and soft hail being driven in by a strong to gale force northwesterly wind.

“Southeastern areas most sheltered from these but widely feeling very cold.

“Gradually turning more settled through the following week, with cloud, stronger winds and outbreaks of rain increasingly becoming confined to northwest Scotland, as an area of high pressure becomes established across at least the south of the UK.

“It may even become settled here too, but confidence in the north/south boundary between settled and unsettled gets steadily lower through the period.

“Becoming widely mild, perhaps exceptionally so in some places, although clearer spells overnight may lead to localised frost and fog.”

Sadly it looks like London might not get any snow this Christmas, however, it will be frosty and the area should get some mild weather.
