A pub in Wimbledon will be open on Christmas Day and will offer free dinner and wine to anyone who is alone that day.
The Alexandra on 33 Wimbledon Hill Road began this initiative 10 years ago and will continue to do so this year.
The Alexandra reported that 161 people attended last Christmas, and the owners are encouraging others by saying, “don’t be on your own on Christmas Day dinner.”
People can get “quietly sozzled” and meet “loads of wonderful people”.
The Alexandra are offering free dinner and free wine as long as you turn up between 12pm and 3pm on the day.
You’ll be placed at tables of four, six, or eight, where you can share a three-course meal and make new friends this Christmas.
