Wisbech motorbike rider who was arrested after being seen on footpath with no helmet also failed drug test


A motorbike rider who was seen without a helmet on a footpath was arrested on suspicion of taking the vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The rider was also arrested for having a knife in a public place and driving without a licence or insurance. They also failed a DrugWipe for cannabis.

The arrest was made on Leverington Road in Wisbech after police had been out on patrol in the town and first saw the bike on Sandyland.

The rider soon made off towards the rugby club field, riding along the footpath without a helmet.

Fenland CCTV was tasked to view the cameras in the area. Officers intercepted the motorbike on the footpath that comes out on Leverington Road next to Peckover School.

When arrested, the rider was taken to King’s Lynn’s Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Police are still making enquiries into this matter.
